On behalf of Peter and Ann Woollett, ‘Nardoo’ was sold via an online auction on Friday 11th September 2020. Bruce Douglas facilitated the sale along with Bill Seeney from the Ray White office at Longreach, it was the highest under the hammer price across Ray White this year.
The property of 97,500 hectares (240,928 acres) had interest during the campaign almost exclusively from larger grazing families around Queensland. Being located in the tightly held Gulf, properties don’t come on the market very often, so buyers jumped on it. With eleven registered bidders, bidding commenced at $20m climbing to the $35m sale price. The property was sold to a local Cloncurry grazier family. The sale included cattle and plant machinery with an estimated carrying capacity of 8000 cattle.
