“Tanumbirini Station” the 5,001 square kilometre holding has been placed under contract by the Thames Pastoral Pty Ltd, purchasing the property from Baldy Bay Pty Ltd an entity owned by Sterling Buntine.
Ray White Rural offered the property to the market by Public Auction in May 2011 and at that time the purchasers were prospective players entering the Northern Australian market. Since that time the purchasing entity had their key personnel visit Australia and inspect property with David Connolly their Australian representative. Russel Wolff from Ray White Rural, Katherine liased with the Thames Pastoral Pty Ltd and was instrumental in bringing the sale together.
There were approx 28,000 mixed cattle included in the contract which was signed at a yet to be disclosed figure. Mr Connolly on behalf of the purchasing entity, said “Thames Pastoral Pty Ltd are delighted to have the opportunity to purchase a property such as Tanumbirini Station stocked with a quality herd of cattle”.
Mr Connolly went on to say there is talk of benchmarks being set with this purchase by Thames Pastoral Pty Ltd and there were already many versions of who the buyer is and for how much. The fact that this sale has progressed during the uncertainty of the live export market, shows how much faith investors have in the future of the Australian Beef Industry.
Russel Wolff from Ray White Rural Katherine and Andrew Adcock Ray White Rural (Qld) have combined to bring several properties to the market in the past couple of years and are now seeing the results of that work. Last week the Peanut Company of Australia properties were confirmed as being sold for $13.25 million to TFS, a West Australian based company specialising in Sandalwood production.
